THE MATSUI – SINGLE MALT WHISKEY
THE PEATED.
THE MATSUI THE PEATED is a Single Malt distilled by the distillery
Kurayoshi, located in Tottori Prefecture. Special attention
was made during the selection of the malted barley which was peated.
The master distiller rightly considers that the quality of the grain
has a strong impact on distillation, aging and complexity
of the final product.
Double distillation in American oak barrels, then aged, in a
natural environment favorable to aging.
The peated evokes sweetness and fruit with a smoky finish. This
masterpiece created with care and passion is reduced with the water of
natural spring from Mount Daisen.
TASTING NOTES:
COAT : Light amber.
NOSE: Freshly cut malted cereals, peat
slightly camphorous, lively and balanced.
MOUTH : Freshness, vegetable peat. Oak notes
toasted, brown sugar, creamy vanilla, all enveloped in a minty or even liquorice smoke.
FINAL: Peaty smoke and lingering notes of fresh apple.
