Samurai rice sake from Asahikawa Distillery in Hokkaido has a deep flavor and sharp taste from the use of very pure rice grains. Traditionally, sake is consumed cold, hot, or on ice as the Samurai drank it but also with soda and/or lime juice. Its consumption is recommended for sake-based cocktails, but also with sushi, sashimi, seafood and salmon tartare.

The Asahikawa distillery resides in the Akita prefecture in Japan on the island of Honshu. Akita prefecture is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan and extends east to the Ōu Mountains, the longest mountain range in Japan. Fresh water from the mountain spring and seawater from the Sea of Japan are added to carefully selected botanicals that capture the Japanese coast in a bottle.
