Unlike a classic furikake, red shiso furikake does not contain seaweed or fish but red shiso. Red shiso is a plant from the same family as mint, often used for its beautiful purple color. It has a complex flavor between hibiscus and cinnamon which is enhanced by the salt in this condiment. It can be used as a furikake topping on all your dishes.

Flavor: A good taste of red shiso, between hibiscus and cinnamon, enhanced by salt , pleasantly acidic and refreshing.

It can be used to coat your onigiri or to add a touch of flavor to your white rice but it will also be perfect sprinkled on mushroom pasta, fruit salad or potato dishes. You can also use it to make sauces or as a finishing touch on all kinds of dishes such as salads or burrata for example.

Ingredients : Red shiso in brine (red shiso, salt) (75.47%), sugar ( 15.09%), salt (5.66%), flavor enhancers (E621, E635) (2.08%), acidifier (E296) (1.7%)

Storage : Store at room temperature. After opening, close the bag tightly and store away from heat and humidity.

Founded at the beginning of the 20th century in Hiroshima, the Tanaka Foods company specializes in making furikake. At the start of the Taisho era, in the 1910s, she launched her first product: the furikake “Ryoko no Tomo, Accompany you on the trip”. From then on, the company continued to grow and create diverse and varied furikakes such as Hello Kitty-colored furikakes or furikakes in small bags, a first in Japan. Rewarded by the Ministry of Health and Labor for the cleanliness of its factories, Tanaka Foods attaches great importance to the health and well-being of its employees but also of its customers and ensures this by using healthy ingredients for making his furikakes.
